Tender Moments in the Xishan
The North House, originally Dr. Bussière’s residence, bore witness to cherished moments with his family. Wu Sidan (1924–2013), a renowned Chinese painter, became his second wife in 1952. Wed that year, they shared years of tranquility at Bussière Garden. In autumn 1954, Dr. Bussière returned to France, accompanied by Wu Sidan. In 1955, their son Jean-Louis Bussière was born, and given the Chinese name Bei Shitao (贝石涛). This architecture remains a living witness to an enduring East-West bond.
